Dare to Hold - Dare Series #6 by Carly Phillips

I love the Dare series. This is the best series Carly Phillips has written. I have read a lot of her books and this one has to be at the top.
I have been waiting on this book, and it did not disappoint. Scott is alpha all the way and a hot cop ! He leaves the force to join his brothers security agency.
Meg is an elementary school teacher, who takes unpaid leave after her ex Mike forces Scott to get her a bodyguard. Mike is an alcoholic abuser. He first told Meg he didn't want a baby and he didn't even think it was his! We saw his temper in Dare to Touch, when he threw Meg up against a wall and she went to hospital and almost lost her baby! Luckily baby is ok.
Scott is upset from what his Father did ( he had another family), and his ex wife (She made a decision without him, and Scott divorced her). Things happened, things are resolved and Meg tells Scott she wants him and their baby to all live together in their house.

The only bad thing, we don't get to see Meg waddle, nor do we find out if it's a boy or a girl.

I can't wait to read about Avery and Greyson in Dare to Rock.

This Heart of Mine by Brenda Novak

I have read every book in Brenda Novak's Whiskey Creek series. This is the one I have been waiting for.
Phoenix Fuller is released from prison after serving 16 years for vehicular manslaughter. She has a son, Jacob with her high school boyfriend, Riley. She moves back to Whiskey Creek in a trailer right next to her hoarder Mother. She wants to get to know Jacob. They meet for breakfast in the beginning of the book and we get Phoenix's back story. It's so awkward, Jake doesn't know her, and they are kind of shy around each other at this first meeting.
I like when Phoenix gets a job with Kyle, he is so fun! He and Riley buy Phoenix clothes and leave them on her porch, The part in the store where Riley and Kyle are picking them out is hilarious !
Phoenix makes leather bracelets and sells them online. She is fixing up her trailer, cleaning it out and making a bedroom for Jacob. Riley sees that Phoenix is riding a bicycle to work or Kyle picks her up and then takes her home. He takes the bike to Noah who fixes it for Phoenix.
Riley has a birthday party at Simon's house. We get to see people from the previous books. Riley goes and tries to leave when she realizes Kyle brought Riley a date, but Riley won't let her leave because she would just walk/hitchhike home. So she stayed and had fun with Riley's friends. Phoenix and Riley started a sexual relationship that night.. Phoenix went to Jake's baseball game again and this time she sat with Riley but didn't say anything, she was focusing on Jake playing not on all the people watching her instead of the field! We get to hear what really happened the night Lori was killed. That's a great part, make sure you pay attention ! The epilogue is a letter Phoenix wrote to Coop, and just told us what has happened since she got out of prison.

I liked the book. Brenda Novak is an amazing author and I can't wait for more Whiskey Creek books.

Dare to Touch - Dare series #5 by Carly Phillips

The best Dare book so far ! Olivia Dare and Dylan Rhodes both work for the football team Miami Thunder that's led by the Dare family. Dylan likes Olivia and wants to be with her but Olivia is wary because of the way she was left by her father who had another family and her ex whom she walked in to him cheating on her. Olivia falls pretty quickly into bed with Dylan, but it works for them. Dylan has an ex, Meg, whom he still talks to and hangs out with. but after meeting her, Olivia is ok with them staying friends. He shows that he can be her friend only when Meg gets hurt and they both rush to her side, which is where Meg and Scott meet. (Would love to read a story about them. The tough cop and the Pregnant elementary school teacher. ) According to the epilogue, I think Meg and Scott will be the next book. 

Olivia and Dare are another great Carly Phillips book, in the Dare series, and I can't wait to read more in the series.
