Head over Heels for the Holidays by Jennifer Bernard

 Maya is the police chief of Lost Harbor. Rune is a childhood friend she met while vacationing in Hawaii. Rune is a travel LPN who is helping take care of Harris, Maya's dad, who had a heat attack in the previous book. Maya is on a dating freeze, she was dumped by her boyfriend 5 years ago, and hates dating. The girls tell her to date Rune while he is here, but she starts avoiding him. She decides to ask him to be her fake holiday boyfriend, where they go to parties together. He agrees, and they go to plenty. Rune's sister Cara is a 17 year old senior in high school. They move around because she has a stalker. She first was friendly to him, and he took it too far. They are stil looking out for him, because he keeps finding them. Maya knows what is going on and also on the lookout. We see Maggie, or S.G. as she used to be know, in this book. She becomes friends with Cara. Maya sets us a meeting for Maggie to meet her Mom, Kelsey. People are hurt, Maya says important words, people are ok, and everything is cleared up at the end of the book.

For the Love of Ivy by Cindy Kirk

 Ivy is the 7 year old daughter of Widower Seth. His sister Anna is good friends with Lauren. Ivy is injured in an ATV accident, and Seth asks her to move in with them to help him care for Ivy. She sustained a broken arm and leg and a mild concussion. This is not a story about only Ivy, it's the love story between Lauren and Seth. Seth is injured at a fire, smoke inhalation, and he and Lauren have some moments. They go to a party together where Seth is jealous she gets asked out by a guy. On their way home they find an injured dog, Seth is almost a vet, so they fix him up and Ivy names him Bailey.

Seth's wife makes him promise not to marry again until Ivy is out of high school. He thinks it's because of a possible evil stepmother situation. Ivy is on the verge of receiving a PhD is Psychology. She decides to leave because Ivy will no longer need her soon. Seth asks her not to leave him and tells her he loves her. She tells him she loves him and Ivy also. He propses and a month later they are married. Seth is going to continue his education to become a vet. Ivy wants to open a small practice and teach classes online, in Sweet River.
