Nessa is heading into her senior year, last semester of undergrad. Miles is the resident geek with glasses also heading into his last semester. Since Pacey is now with Mackenzie, Nessa is always telling people yes she had a major crush on Pacey but she is over that. She is trying to get money for college, thinking about what she wants to do with her life. Miles is helping her with her homework in statistics class. They are friends, they fool around but neither wants more, not knowing what will happen after graduation. They eventually fall into a sexual relationship. Nessa knows that they can't keep going, Miles knows she is not for him. Miles had a twin that died, and Nessa lost her Mom. They talk about them sometimes.
Nessa has an ex that she thinks is sending her flowers. They are hurt by this ex, who is going to jail. They are both ok. They talk, Nessa has sold a book trilogy she wrote so she can afford college. They admit things, apologize for things, and say 3 words to each other. They are looking forward to going to grad school together in CO.
